We raised $99k for CEO Sleepout 2025!
This winter, I have once again spent a night sleeping outside on a cardboard. And for the 4th year running, I have organised a group of community leaders to join me in the annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout, in aid of the homeless in our city. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported our team, consisting of Matthew Moncrieff, Louis Pang, Fr John Daly, Dr Trevor Pavey, Simon Reid, Vilai Kelemete and myself.
Following Sleepout 2025, I visited the Vinnies Australia’s warehouse at Canning Vale, where I saw a team of volunteers and staff put the money we raised to good use.
As a CEO Sleepout Ambassador, beyond raising funds, I would like to create a greater awareness on the issue of homelessness. People become homeless not by choice. Some are born into difficult circumstances; some suffered business failures, broken marriages, domestic violence, or simply as collateral damages of the above. This year, the situation is made worse by the cost of living and housing crisis, stretching the already thin resources of charity organisations such as Vinnies and the Foodbank.
The next time you see a homeless person, give them a smile, buy them a drink or a sandwich. Show them you care! Together, we can make a difference!
