Greetings and Welcome

I am Howard Ong, community volunteer and advocate.

Storm leaves a mess. Locals roll up their sleeves.

A weekend storm scattered debris across parklands and streets. How did the neighbourhood respond? Local residents jumped in, cleared up, and left debris at the kerbside for pickup.

I love my neighbourhood!

From a unique-looking Chinese delicacy to a memorable evening.

I had the delight of tasting Poon Choi (盆菜), a traditional Guangdong dish tracing it’s roots to the 13th century. It was the occasion of the inauguration of the 5th Council of the Guangdong Cultural and Business Association.

Western Australia’s link to Guangdong traces back to 1829, with the first Chinese migrant to the Swan Colony, Moon Chow (周满), a skilled carpenter. Today, the Guangdong Association is a key steward of WA’s multicultural landscape, promoting commerce and culture.

Congratulations to President Li (李汉成) and the entire committee on their inauguration. May the Association grow from strength to strength under the new leadership.

A New Capital Gains Tax – what’s the fuss?

Because it goes beyond property and housing.

It goes beyond just another new tax.

How will this impact you?
